RAG Austria AG opens the world's first geological hydrogen storage facility
Underground energy storage is revolutionizing the energy world: RAG Austria AG is setting standards in energy storage.
The energy world has reached an important milestone: RAG Austria AG has opened the world's first geological hydrogen storage facility in an underground pore storage facility near Rubensdorf. The company is thus setting new international standards in energy storage and setting an example for a sustainable future.
ATTENTION. was able to implement a total of three events in two days for the client: on April 27th a press conference and on April 28th an International Opening Day with international guests, as well as a public information event in the tent, at which the residents had the opportunity to find out more about to visit the unique demonstration plant.
The size of the storage roughly corresponds to the summer surplus of around 1,000 photovoltaic systems on single-family homes. The aim is to store excess energy in summer and make it available as green energy in the form of electricity and heat in winter.
RAG Austria AG has proven that a sustainable energy future is possible. The use of hydrogen storage in geological formations enables the storage of renewable energies and thus the year-round use of green energy.
The "Underground Sun Storage" project is a flagship project for energy storage and a flagship project for climate protection.
